Following a successful four-month run at San Martin on the East Side, Chris Barrett brings his music to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) for an open ended run on Mondays through Wednesdays starting Monday, January 21st. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. There is no cover charge.

LIVE AT THE RRAZZ (1000 Van Ness Avenue, SF - 800-380-3095) presents the Bay Area debut of the celebrated entertainer Clint Holmes on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, January 22nd, 23rd & 24th at 8:00 pm; Friday & Saturday, January 25th & 26th at 7:00 pm; and Sunday, January 27th at 5:00 pm.His show "This Thing Called Love," earned rave reviews at the legendary Cafe Caryle in New York and features the music of Cole Porter and Paul Simon. Using the words and music of Porter and Simon, Holmes will explore, examine and compare the two songwriter's views on the universal subject of love. The evening includes such songs as Porter's "Get Out of Town" juxtaposed with Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover," and Simon's contemporary classic "Slip Sliding Away" alongside the Porter standard "I Concentrate on You," among others. Mr. Holmes will be accompanied by a band led by his Musical Director/Arranger Jeffrey Neiman. The evening will be directed by Larry Moss. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Emily Bergl Makes will make her Royal Room Debut Tuesdays through Saturdays, January 22nd through February 2nd at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100). Emily Bergl is one of a rare breed of actresses today with a substantial career in film, television, and the theatre. Her work includes diverse roles in both comedy and drama, and characters from several different centuries. She made her film debut in The Rage: Carrie 2, followed by performances in Happy Campers, Chasing Sleep and Fur. After co-starring with Laurence Fishburne and Stockard Channing in the Broadway production of The Lion in Winter, she began appearing in numerous TV series, including ER, NYPD Blue, Medium, Grey's Anatomy and The Good Wife, plus two seasons as the malevolent Francie on Gilmore Girls, and as the tragic Beth Young on Desperate Housewives. Her appearance has been rescheduled for the spring. Broadway star Marin Mazzie will replace her. Performances are scheduled for January 22nd at 8:30 pm; 23rd & 24th at 7:00 pm; 25th at 8:30 & 11:00 pm; 26th at 8:30 pm. Mazzie returns in an encore engagement of her acclaimed show that she premiered at the venue in September. Jazz vocalist Sharon Clark brings back her show "Blame it on My Youth" for four nights to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Jeff Harnar, one of the most celebrated performers of the American Popular Songbook, will return to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) in his show "Does This Song Make Me Look Fat? (Lighter Fare for a Winter Night)". Performances are on four Monday nights at 7:00 pm, January 14th, 21st and 28th and Friday, February 8th. Harnar recently was awarded the 2012 Noel Coward Foundation Cabaret Award, as well as two MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) Awards and three Back Stage Bistro Awards. This new show - featuring Music Director Lawrence Yurman on piano, Jered Egan on bass and Ray Marchica on drums - will highlight the wit of Noel Coward, Cole Porter, Sammy Cahn, Comden & Green, Tom Lehrer, Allan Sherman, Stan Freberg, Rick Crom, Larry Kerchner, Francesca Blumenthal and more. Harnar has made appearances at the Carnegie Hall, the Oak Room, Feinstein's at Loews Regency, The Metropolitan Room, Town Hall, and has hosted three seasons of The American Songbook in London at The Jermyn Street Theatre. Carnegie Hall appearances include both the Cole Porter and Noel Coward Centennial Galas, a solo concert at Weill Recital and as Michael Feinstein's special guest at Zankel Hall. Jeff headlined three Town Hall concerts, including a Cole Porter evening with Andrea Marcovicci. The legendary group - created by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner; and, David Freiberg, also a former Jefferson Airplane member and co-founder of the legendary Quicksilver Messenger Service - return from a nine country world tour for historic performances in San Francisco. The band, descended from Jefferson Airplane - who performed at Monterey and Woodstock, at Altamont with the Rolling Stones, and shared the bill countless times with The Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin, and whose music helped define a generation focused on civil rights, environmental awareness and anti-war activism - is set to perform the landmark 1967 recording "Surrealistic Pillow" in its entirety, as a post holiday gift to hometown fans.The show will feature their repertoire of hits spanning all eras of their existence, including "Jane," "Somebody To Love," "Miracles," "White Rabbit," "Volunteers," "Count On Me," "Find Your Way Back" and many more. Featuring music from "A Little Night Music," "Carrie," "Catch Me If You Can," "Ghost," "Glory Days," "Godspell," and "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever", the concert stars Jake Boyd (Carrie, Rock of Ages), Alex Brightman (Wicked, Glory Days), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Hands on a Hard Body, Catch Me if You Can), Eric Michael Krop (Godpell), Corey Mach (Hands on a Hard Body, Godspell), Elly Noble (Carrie), Justin Patterson (A Little Night Music, Memphis), Constantine Rousouli (Ghost, Wicked), and Alysha Umphress (American Idiot, On A Clear Day). NYC: DAVID FRIEDMAN SINGS HIS OWN TREASURED TUNES

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) welcomes prolific composer David Friedman to perform on Sunday, January 20th at 6:30 pm. Well known for compositions such as We Can Be Kind, Listen to My Heart, We Live on Borrowed Time and Help is on the Way, David wrote much of the music and produced all of the celebrated recordings of the late Nancy Lamott. His music has also been recorded by the likes of Diana Ross, Barry Manilow, Petula Clark, Lucie Arnaz and Leslie Uggams, among many others. David brings a celebration of his own treasured tunes to 54 Below, in anticipation of his soon to be released solo recordings.There is a $25-35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas returns to ETCETERA ETCETERA (352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141 - ) on Sunday, January 20th from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). The optional theme for the evening is "Unexpected Outcomes!". Co-Host will be Lynly Forrest. In the Salon Spotlight: Dawn Derow & Sean Harkness. NYC: BROADWAY ON 22ND STREET RETURNS TONIGHT

The hit cabaret series Broadway On 22nd Street returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Sunday, January 20th. Broadway On 22nd Street was created by award-winning cabaret producer Joseph Macchia. The series brings some of the most talented performers from The Great White Way. Each performer has a mini set as well as performs duos, and group numbers. January will feature Tony Chiroldes (Broadway's In The Heights), Marcus Paul James (Broadway's In The Heights, Off Broadway Revival of Rent), Will Perez (Dreamgirls, Ugly Betty), Blanca Camacho (In The Heights), and Courtney Reed (In The Heights). The evening will be music directed by MAC and Bistro Award winner Tracy Stark. The series was created so that Broadway performers would be introduced to the world of New York Cabaret. The series is currently in its second season and received a Broadway World Nomination for best cabaret series. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SALON PRESENTS: A Memorial Cabaret Tribute to Michael Nelsen

SALON PRESENTS: A Memorial Cabaret Tribute to Michael Nelsen hosted by Julie Reyburn on Saturday, January 19th at 8:00 pm (doors open at 7:00 pm) at ETCETERA ETCETERA (352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141 - ) when . Michael Nelsen passed away this summer after a long illness. Mr. Nelsen was a regular audience member in cabaret rooms, not just in NYC but he also regularly travelled to other cities to support his many favorite performers when they appeared out of the NYC area. There will also be the official announcement of the Michael J. Nelsen Scholarship Fund. This annual memorial scholarship will award monies to an up and coming cabaret performer. Details to be announced at the memorial.Performances by: Tom Anderson, Scott Coulter, Baby Jane Dexter, Tim Di Pasqua, Natalie Douglas, Terese Genecco, Daryl Glenn, Carolyn Montgomery, Miles Phillips, Shaynee Rainbolt, John Patrick Shutz, Marcus Simeone, and Stacy Sullivan.
