NYC: SHARON McNIGHT IN"TWISTED XMAS: A DRUID'S VIEW OF THE HOLIDAYS"

NYC: SHARON McNIGHT IN"TWISTED XMAS: A DRUID'S VIEW OF THE HOLIDAYS"

DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) presents the return of Tony Award nominee Sharon McNight for her new Christmas show on Monday, December 17th at 7:00 pm. "Twisted Xmas: A Druid's View of the Holidays" is an irreverent look at the traditions of the season. Over the past decades, during the holidays, while Debby Boone touted a White Christmas and Bruce Vilanch roasted his chestnuts over an open fire, Sharon McNight offered an alternative choice from the expected songs. She has stockpiled myriad and outrageous, wacky musical commentaries on the 12 days of everything from Santa, Jesus, Teddy Bears, Elves, Snow, and of course ... Bette Davis. Sharon Mcnight made her Broadway debut in 1989 in Starmites, creating the role of Diva. She received a Tony Award nomination as "Best Leading Actress in a Musical" for her performance, and is the recipient of the coveted Theatre Worlds Award for "Outstanding Broadway Debut." The singer/comedienne's regional credits include Amanda McBroom's Heartbeats at the Pasadena Playhouse, and an award winning Dolly in Hello, Dolly! at the Peninsula Civic Light Opera. Sharon was Sister Hubert in Nunsense in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where she received the Bay Area Critics Circle award for "Best Performance in a Musical". She is the narrator of the documentary, There That Night, the story of the Provincetown, Massachusetts fire, and was featured in the A&E documentary, It's Burlesque, for her research on Mae West and Sophie Tucker. There is a $30 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
