Kim David Smith's acclaimed MORPHIUM KABARETT returns in 2017 to PANGEA(178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) for four additional dates - Thursdays, February 2nd and 9th; and Wednesdays, February 15th and 22nd; all shows at 7:30 pm. After a sold-out 2016 season (and a fantastic jaunt to Provincetown at the Afterglow Festival), Morphium Kabarett will return to the gorgeously intimate Pangea. With added songs and lashings of whimsy, the 2017 edition of Morphium Kabarett further explores the glitter, doom, and decadence of Weimar-era Berlin, and the chaos of present day, in a midwinter's musical miasma. Named for the sensual, Spoliansky-penned waltz (famously danced to by a naked Anita Berber), Morphium Kabarett is musically directed by Tracy Stark, and features the music of Hollaender, Weill, and Spoliansky, mixed with Kylie Minogue, the Supremes, and myriad unexpected others, in a neo-Weimar cabaret fantasia.
