NYC: SALON RETURNS - THEME FOR THE EVENING: "LOVE SONGS & LULLABIES"
SALON - that unique, multiple award winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas will return to ETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sunday, July 17th from 7:00-10:30 pm. (Sign-Up Begins at 6:15.) The optional theme for the evening is "Love Songs & Lullabies". Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon. Co-Hosts will be Eva & Jonathan Kantor! The Salon events are produced by Tanya Moberly. Salon is an ongoing open entertainment event in which singers, writers and musicians share their talent with each other and audience members. There are no reservations; seating is on a first come/ first served basis. All types of material, on or off theme are always welcome at Salon. They enthusiastically welcome instrumentalists, poets, playwrights, essayists, comics, illusionists and performance artists. Please limit your selections to three or four minutes in length (including introductions). Please also bring clear, complete charts for the accompanist to read. There is a $10 cash cover collected at the door and a $15 food/drink minimum (cash or credit) per person.

NYC: MARY FOSTER CONKLIN TO HOST NEW FM RADIO SHOW ON THE WEB - JULY 17th
Jazz/cabaret vocalist Mary Foster Conklin has announced her debut on WFDU 89.1 FM, hosting a weekly show every Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm (Eastern Time), streaming on their HD2 channel, Jazz and What's More. You can find it on the internet at http://www.wfdu.fm - and clicking on the "Listen to HD2" button. You'll be given a player for your device and will hear the channel instantly. There's also a free app you can download for both iPhone and Android. The program is called "A Broad Spectrum" and offers up an assortment of music by Women Who Inspire - Writers, Composers, Instrumentalists and Vocalists (there will be airplay of male artists too, in the Honorable Men-tion slot).
