HOTLINE MEMBER CABARET EVENT TONIGHT IN PALM SPRINGS, CA: AMY BROTHMAN TO PERFORM AT ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATER - MAY 29th
Los Angeles singer and actor, Amy Brothman, will appear Sunday, May 29th at 2:00 pm at the THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) in her hit show "Jewish Women Doing Jewish Men" as part of Les Michael's Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series. The show explores what's become some of our country's greatest national treasures from the Broadway stages by Jewish composers and lyricists. Joining Ms. Brothman will be local pianist Joel Baker. Originally from Buffalo, Amy started performing in musicals at the age of 7 years old. After completing her studies in Musical Theater, she moved to New York City where she landed her first professional audition, the role of Sheila in the Anniversary Tour of "Hair". She later moved to Los Angeles and taking time out to raise her son but soon was back auditioning again as well as producing. She has performed "Jewish Women Doing Jewish Men" at several Los Angeles venues and is eager to debut it in the Desert. In it she sings music by Irving Berlin, Julie Styne, Jerry Herman, Richard Rogers, Richard Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, and more, along with interesting facts and stories about them. Tickets are $11 cash only at the box office, and doors open at 1:00 pm.
