NYC: ANOTHER HUNDRED PEOPLE: SULLIVAN & HARNAR SING SONDHEIM: ACT ONE

KT Sullivan and Jeff Harnar return to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) with a reprise of their original show 'Another Hundred People: Sullivan & Harnar Sing Sondheim: Act One' - which sold out every week this past summer, on Thursday, December 17th at 6:00 pm. Musical Director is Jon Weber and the show is directed by Sondra Lee. As two of the world's most acclaimed cabaret artists, KT Sullivan (Broadway: The Threepenny Opera, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes; Cabaret: Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, The Kennedy Center) and Jeff Harnar (Cabaret venues across the world including Carnegie Hall, and winner of the 2012 Noel Coward Foundation Cabaret Award) perform more Sondheim classics giving a new insight into the timeless music of Stephen Sondheim. There is a $30 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: SKIE OCASIO BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Skie Ocasio will celebrate his birthday with a special show at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, December 17th at 9:30 pm. Skie Ocasio was last seen at the Metropolitan Room in 2009 in his show At Last, an evening of song, Since than he has been working as the VP of Operations at Luxury Attache. He is a producer, director and creator of the male vocal groups Broadway4 and Forte. His recent endeavors include a partnership with Joseph Macchia and Rival Productions. As a performer, Skie found his love of performing at the Lower East Side Boys Club of New York, making his debut as the lead in Pinocchio at 11. That part lead to other roles (including the lead in Oliver!) and the opportunity to attend Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Massachusetts on a full academic scholarship. After high school, Skie studied musical theater at Syracuse University followed by a career as a 'theme park/,cruise line' entertainer. Skie joined the National tours of Jekyll & Hyde, South Pacific starring Robert Goulet and Bombay Dreams; as well as singing offstage during performances of both Gypsy of the Year and The Easter Bonnet Competition. In Dallas he performed the roles of Frankie in Forever Plaid, Valentin in Kiss of the Spider Woman, Black in The Wild Party, The American in Chess and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. He understudied Paolo Montalban as Prince Charming in the Papermill Playhouse production of Cinderella, where he performed the role opening weekend. As a Director, Ocasio has staged 2 concerts for the NYCGMC as well as several cabaret shows, he studied the Art of Cabaret with artists Andrea Marcovicci, Karen Mason, Lenny Watts and Christopher Denny. This show marks his birthday and return to performing. There is a $5 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SINGING EXPERIENCE WORKSHOP SHOWCASE TONIGHT AT STAGE 72

Linda Amiel Burns, the Director of THE SINGING EXPERIENCE, announces that the next workshop performance will be at STAGE 72(158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-315-3500) on Thursday, December 17th at 7:30 pm. The show "Holiday Dreams" features Georgia Buchanan, Bill Dyszel, Maggie Gallagher, Pearl Lerner Kane, Leah Lane, Chantel Martinez, Leslie Maxie, Paul Rossi, Bonnie Schneider, Christine Shuler, Merrill Stone, Adam Wright Strayer, Mary Carol Tedeschi, and Bill Thomas. The Production Team: Linda Amiel Burns, Producer/Director; Joan Adams, Associate Director; Richard Danley, Musical Director; Shannon Epstein. THE SINGING EXPERIENCE in its 36th season, (established 1977) was begun to give aspiring cabaret and musical theater performers the opportunity to explore their talents, conquer fear, and develop self-confidence by learning the "tools of the trade" through actually performing before audiences in a supportive and nurturing environment. NYC: "SISTERS IN STRAYHORN" WITH TAMMY MCCANN & KAREN OBERLIN

BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) presents "Sisters in Strayhorn" with Tammy McCann & Karen Oberlin on Thursday, December 17th at 6:00 pm. The Billy Strayhorn Foundation celebrates his 100th year on December 17th with two celebrated singers who have been performing the Strayorn catalogue for many years. Here, Tammy McCann and Karen Oberlin join forces with the Tedd Firth trio to bring to Birdland audiences the varied, exquisite songs this brilliant songwriter following what would have been his 100th birthday. As a special guest, joining them to speak about his life and work will be Billy Strayhorn biographer David Hajdu. There is a $25 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

 KAREN OBERLIN IS A MEMBER OF CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE

LONDON: OPEN MIC NIGHT AT THE CRAZY COQS 

Harold Sanditen, jazz-cabaret singer and veteran theatre producer, is host of Open Mic Night at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) every Thursday at 10:30 pm, ably supported by regular musicians Michael Roulston on piano and Jonty Fisher on bass. It is always an entertaining evening full of fun and surprise. Aimed at both the jazz and theatrical communities, The Crazy Coqs Open Mic Night welcomes all singers, composers and musicians, up & coming and established, who want to do a turn, performing new material or old favourites.
