"Our Sinatra: A Musical Celebration," the critically acclaimed musical saluting and honoring the music of Frank Sinatra, will mark its 15th Anniversary (2000-2015) and celebrate the Centennial (1915-2015) of one of our greatest American vocalists in a return engagement of the award- winning production. Beginning Friday, November 13th (and playing through December 26th), original cast members Eric Comstock and Christopher Gines will be joined by jazz vocalist Harmony Keeney to offer an evening of swinging tunes and romantic ballads from Ol' Blue Eyes at CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900). Performances are Fridays & Saturdays at 7:00 & 9:00 pm. (There are no shows on December 4th). Our Sinatra is a celebration of the magic and music of the legendary Frank Sinatra. The show features over 50 Sinatra classics including such songs from his early years as All or Nothing at All (his very first recording), I'll Never Smile Again and Oh, Look at Me Now; from his movie career (My Kind of Town, All the Way); his saloon songs (One for My Baby, In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning); and his hits from the 50s & 60s (Night and Day, Fly Me to the Moon, The Lady is a Tramp). Conceived by Eric Comstock, Hilary Kole and Christopher Gines, Our Sinatra originally opened at the Algonquin Hotel's famed Oak Room in August of 1999 before it was expanded as an Off-Broadway show at the Blue Angel Theatre in December of 1999. By the time it finished its run in July 2002 it had amassed 1,114 performances. Our Sinatra played off-Broadway at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club from November 2003 through March 2004. In addition to the New York productions over the past fifteen years and its two national tours, Our Sinatra has played at numerous theatres around the Country. The show played a sold out celebratory 10th anniversary production at the famed Algonquin Hotel and followed with a reunion at Feinstein's At The Regency in January of 2012. In 2013, Our Sinatra enjoyed a triumphant engagement in Saugatuck, Michigan featuring Tony DeSare, as well as a week at 54 Below. The most recent engagements include a sold out week at Birdland in July 2014 and at the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, New York in February 2015. Directed by Kurt Stamm with Production Supervision by Richard Maltby, Jr., Our Sinatra is produced by Jack Lewin and Christopher Gines. There is a $50-$70 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
Julia Murney returns to FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday through Saturday, November 19th through 21st at 7:00 pm with her first solo show since 2012. She will be joined by Will van Dyke and The Whiskey 5! Julia's soaring voice and meaningful interpretations of Broadway and beyond make her a fan favorite on the Great White Way. A staple of the New York theatre scene, Julia has starred as 'Elphaba' on Broadway and in the national tour of Wicked. She has also appeared on Broadway in Lennon, as well off-Broadway in (among others) The Wild Party (Manhattan Theatre Club, Drama Desk Nomination), Falling (Minetta Lane Theatre, Drama Desk Nomination), The Landing (Vineyard), and Time and Again (Manhattan Theatre Club, Lucille Lortel Award Nomination). She's sung on concert stages all over the world from Carnegie Hall to Kuala Lumpur (literally), and her TV credits include 30 Rock, Law & Order, and Sex and the City. Don't miss a spectacular evening with Julia Murney at Feinstein's/54 Below! There is a $30-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
The first time that Sally Ann Triplett performed at FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) she sang a duet with Sting (she did after all play his wife on Broadway in The Last Ship!). Now, Sally returns on her own on Saturday, November 21st at 9:30 pm to re-trace some of the steps she's taken over the past 35 years as a West End leading lady, in shows including Anything Goes, Chicago, Guys And Dolls, Cats, Jolson, Grease, Follies, Chess, Whorehouse, and more. You might even expect a trip down memory lane to her very brief time in the original Broadway production of Carrie. There will be blood!... sweat and perhaps a few tears as Sally sings the work of Porter, Gershwin, Arlen, Pitchford, Wood, and (can't get rid of him) ... Sting. There is a $30-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
Following the sold-out success of TOTAL ECLIPSE: THE MUSIC OF JIM STEINMAN presented earlier this year with an all-star cast, FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) is once again, as part of the club's Late Night Series on Saturday, November 21st at 11:30 pm, the home for a night of music dedicated to one of the music industry's most iconic songwriters of all time, Jim Steinman, with PARADISE FOUND: THE LOST SONGS OF JIM STEINMAN. Starring thrilling and dynamic rising star Tyce Green on several epic Steinman anthems, both internationally recognized titles and hidden gems, the night will also feature special guests TBA. Between hits from BAT OUT OF HELL and beyond as well as a stunning selection of "lost children" personally curated by The Lord Of Excess himself, PARADISE FOUND: THE LOST SONGS OF JIM STEINMAN promises to be an unforgettable night of rock n roll. "Everything is permitted!" Special Guests set to appear include Jessica Hendy, Mike Schwitter, Melissa VanPelt, Gregory Sullivan and more. Produced and directed by Pat Cerasaro.
