Alma Mater - an evening of Fado and Modinha will be presented at THE BUTTERFLY CLUB ((256 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, AUS - 03 96902000) on Thursday through Sunday, May 9th through 12th at 7:00 pm (6:00 pm Sunday). Reawakening the voice of worlds since lost to dusty hard-covered volumes, Alma Mater brings a fresh vitality to a long-held tradition. Sung with the unique passion of the world of men being lost to an untamed ocean, of women taking refuge from harsh and howling winds in candle-lit taverns, of the last drops of wine in a damp cellar.
