FL: MARY FOSTER CONKLIN AT THE ROYAL ROOM
The winner of the 2010 MAC Award for Jazz Vocalist by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, Mary Foster Conklin, will be returning to the THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) on Fridays & Saturdays, July 8th & 9th and 15th & 16th. Mary Foster Conklin is a true jazz original. Her hip, smoky style has been described as both recognizably traditional yet unmistakably contemporary, as she puts her personal stamp on a smart repertoire that spans over eight decades. Her sets are a mix of contemporary material and standards, with an emphasis on the lesser-known treasures of the Great American Songbook. A natural storyteller, Conklin has wowed audiences at The Blue Note, The Iridium, The Metropolitan Room, Sweet Rhythm and the Triad Theatre in New York, as well as The Plush Room in San Francisco and the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles. There is a $100 cover for dinner & show; $65 for show only.
