NYC: THE VILLAGE GATE'S "OLD FASHIONED PIANO PARTY"
A edition of (le) Poisson Rouge's weekly Old Fashioned Piano Party will be celebrating the songs of William Finn (Falsettos, A New Brain, ... Spelling Bee) this Sunday, April 24th at 9:00 pm at LE POISSON ROUGE (158 Bleecker Street, NYC - 212-505-3474). Hosted by theater nerd Kevin Michael Murphy, with Caleb Hoyer on the keys. The show is also featuring composer Alex Wyse (Nighttime Traffic) and Special Guests Rebecca Vogel, Brian DeCaluwe, Jo Philbin, & Paul Louis Lessard. This weekly event is cover-free and will feature drink specials. This up-and-coming open mic night is highly recommended for show-tune lovers, Broadway enthusiasts, "Gleeks", fans of Charles Nelson Reilly, and anyone who ever wanted to do their own dream ballet; showcasing new composers and some of Broadway and Off-Broadway's best each week at the site of the old Village Gate - a nightclub/theater that opened in the late 50's and premiered a number of Off-Broadway shows.
