The weather seems to have settled down to the approaching spring (about 2 weeks away) and I had a few extra bucks come in (thank you, Jamie deRoy for renewing your ad), so I was actually able to get "out and about" catching five (yes 5!) shows in five days (saw 2 shows on Thursday and took a night off on Saturday). I'll get some reviews on the blog as soon as tomorrow night's gala is out of the way.
In a nutshell:
Christiana Bianco - absolutely a smash, sort of a downsized Karen Mason;
Jim VanSlyke - voice of an angel and with his new musical director/director team, this show glows like an angel!;
Adriana McPhee - great vocals, great charm but lifeless, technique-obsessed delivery. If you want to see great cabaret, skip this one!;
Julie Wilson - her tribute to Billie Holiday is totally awesome, and you should be ashamed of yourself if you miss it!;
Cynthia Crane - so entertaining, so exciting, so much fun, so Cynthia! If you want to see great cabaret, don't miss this one!
