OPENS FOR 6 MONDAYS ON MARCH 28th in NYC: METROPOLITAN ROOM HOSTS 4th ANNUAL "NEW YORK'S NEXT TOP DRAG QUEEN CONTEST" STARTING MARCH 28th - A BREAKING NEWS BULLETIN!
For six weeks, starting Monday, March 28th, THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) will host the 4th annual "New York's Next Top Drag Queen Contest." This year's crop of 12 vigorously pre-screened drag artistes is not to be believed. The contestants this year are the following: Melissa Munch; Constance Joanne; Vicky Boofont; Beverly Leslie Sills; Saline Dijon; Zalika Parsons; Nomi SAS; Angel Draper; Delilah Pipes; Gina Tonic; Flippe Kikee, and Ellia J. Garlands. Holly Dae will host her third contest in a row, for six consecutive Mondays through Monday, May 2nd. All shows are at 7:00 pm. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. "New York's Next Top Drag Queen Contest" is produced by the Metropolitan Room and Joseph Macchia. A blue-ribbon panel of drag artists and performers has been chosen (no guest judges): Adam Shapiro; Beau Howard; Yasuhiko Fukuoka, Dorothy Bishop and Stacy Sullivan, 2015 winner Strawberry Fields, Julian Van Cartier and Witti Repartee.Also on the panel are returning judges Frankie C of Odyssey Magazine and Aresnio Amadis, and Mr. Eagle. Macchia serves as chief judge. Macchia, the Metropolitan Room's co-booking manager and hosts manager, is the MAC and Bistro award-winning cabaret producer of "Cabaret Cares," "Broadway on 22nd Street" and "Boys Night Out."
