NYC: "AN AUDIENCE WITH MOLLY POPE" TO BE RECORDED AS LIVE ALBUM
Critically-acclaimed cabarettist Molly Pope will return to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) for the live recording of her very first album, An Audience with Molly Pope, on Wednesday, January 20th at 9:30 pm and Wednesday, January 27th at 7:00 pm. Drawing from a catalogue of recontextualized pop, theater and standards, Molly brings a mix of favorite repertoire and new material for the album. With her signature neo-retro style, she takes the evening back to the heyday of New York City nightclubs. Music Director Tedd Firth will lead a six piece band. Audience members who participate in the sing-a-long will be credited as back up artists. You are hereby invited to an audience with Molly Pope. Pope is a singer/ actor whose solo shows have played Joe's Pub, Feinstein's at the Regency, Ars Nova, The Laurie Beechman Theater and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia. She has also performed at The Cafe Carlyle ("Tales From The Jazz Age"), the Afterglow Festival in Provincetown and "Our Hit Parade" at Joe's Pub. Off-Broadway she has appeared in FOUND at Atlantic Theater Co. Other stage credits include Horseplay, or the Fickle Mistressat (La MaMa ETC / Theatre Askew), Dan Fishback's The Material World (Dixon Place) and Wonderful Town at (Gallery Players). There is a $20 cover plus a 12 food / 2-drink minimum per person.
