NYC: SUE & EDD'S FABULOUS CHRISTMAS SHOW AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Get in the holiday mood with Sue & Edd's FABULOUS Christmas Show at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, December 12th at 4:00 pm with Sue Matsuki and Edd Clark. This is the pair's 9th year doing the show, and this year they are excited to be doing two performances at the Metropolitan Room. Break out the hot toddies, hot chocolate, and Christmas cookies! There'll be some old favorites, some new takes on holiday classics, and some great new songs. Music director Paul Stephan at the piano, and Saadi Zain on bass. There is a $22 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ALEX LEONARD SALUTES GENTLEMAN JOHN BUNCH, "THE FRED ASTAIRE OF THE PIANO"

Alex Leonard returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) with "A Tribute to Gentleman John Bunch" on Wednesday, December 9th at 9:30 pm toTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). He is joined by bassist Jay Leonhart and guitarist Al Gafa. This performance celebrates the life and career of John Bunch from his days growing up in the small farming community of Tipton, Indiana, his heroic service during WW ll to his day's of accompanying a who's who list of artists including Tony Bennett and Benny Goodman. Featured in the 25th Annual Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center, Alex Leonard has performed in venues from Manhattan to Europe and Japan. A two time MAC Award nominee he has performed in the Cabaret Series at the National Arts Club hosted by Donald Smith. He has been a featured guest on many programs including Bloomberg Radio's The Business of Show Business. Virtuoso guitarist Al Gafa performed many years on the road with Dizzy Gillespie, Sammy Davis Jr., Sarah Vaughn, Johnny Hartman and musical director for Carmen McRae. He performed in the Playboy Club in the late 60's and has done studio work with everyone from the Monkees to Paul Simon and can be heard on the soundtrack album of the movie "The Bridges of Madison County". He recorded "Leblon Beach: The Al Gafa Quinteto" on the jazz label Pablo Records. A superior bassist Jay Leonhart has performed and recorded with notables such as Peggy Lee, Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, Carly Simon and Sting. Between 1975 and 1995 he was named The Most Valuable Bassist in the recording industry three times by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Jay has recorded fifteen solo albums and is also performing a one-man show called "The Bass Lesson" about his life in the music business and song. He has toured worldwide for more than forty years. There is a $24 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Celebrate the festive season with "Britain's best cabaret singer" and acclaimed international jazz recording and performance artist Barb Jungr at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL(20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, December 2nd through 12th at 8:00 pm in this brilliantly created collection and collaboration. With pianist Jenny Carr and maestro jazz trumpeter and vocalist Pete Horsfall, Barb presents songs from every corner with her usual swing and panache, both traditional and from the box of surprises! Nodding to Dylan's Christmas album, Joni Mitchell and the great songs from all genres and persuasions of this special time of year, prepare to party (in an elegant jazz/ cabaret kind of way).
