PALM SPRINGS, CA: JEANNE PAGE COMES TO PALM DESERT
Jeanne Page brings her critically-acclaimed show "Reboot" for one-performance only on Sunday, June 28th at 2:00 pm to THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER(73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) as part of Les Michael's Life is a Cabaret series. The show is based on songs from the Great American Songbook made famous by music legends who've inspired her, but with a twist. Joining Jeanne Page is her musical director and pianist, Charlie Harrison. Ms. Page, whose been given the moniker 'the singer who taps', comes primarily from a musical theater background as a dancer. Singing came later, spurred by her love of such performers as Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, and Lena Horne, whom she has often been compared. With the help of her musical director, Charlie Harrison, they have re-styled such songs as; My Blue Heaven, Something Cool, Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out, Good Morning Heartache, A Tisket, A Tasket, Miss Otis Regrets, and My Funny Valentine. All these songs and more are on her new CD also entitled "Reboot" and garnering attention from reviewers. There is an $11 cash cover at the door.

Ria is known for her sultry alto belt and comic one liners and Don L. for his amazing tenor and piano skills. Together, their dynamic harmonies inspire audience participation and create a unique atmosphere of musical moments. With powerful renditions of Country, Soft Rock, Pop, Motown, Classical Standards and Broadway Showtunes, they have been referred to as "the human jukeboxes." No cover.
LOS ANGELES: ROMEO & JULIET: LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD
Kate Pazakis and Bradley Bredeweg present "Romeo & Juliet: Love is a Battlefield" at ROCKWELL: TABLE & STAGE (1714 Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA - 323-669-1550) on Saturday & Sundays at 8:00 pm. At last! The world's most famous playwright meets lycra-clad '80s rock star Pat Benatar. An epic collaboration centuries in the making, Romeo + Juliet: Love Is a Battlefield features Nickelodeon star Ashley Argota as Juliet and hunky singer/actor Rustin Cole Sailors as Romeo as they belt out some of Benatar's biggest hits to tell the timeless story of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers. A delightfully upbeat twist to the classic story, the modern adaptation will both move you to tears and make you want to move your feet at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Feliz. There is a $20-$45 cover.
