NYC: EDDIE BRUCE'S CELEBRATION OF TONY BENNETT: THE MUSIC, THE ART ... THE MAGIC

NYC: EDDIE BRUCE'S CELEBRATION OF TONY BENNETT: THE MUSIC, THE ART ... THE MAGIC

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) presents the return of Eddie Bruce on Sunday, October 7th at 8:30 pm. Eddie will present "A Celebration of Tony Bennett: The Music, The Art ... The Magic". This original production combines beloved songs from Bennett's rich repertoire with stories and images from his amazing life as a singer, painter and philanthropist. It showcases the vocal talent of the show's creator, popular performer Eddie Bruce, who is known as one of the premiere interpreters of Bennett's music. Bruce, backed by the incomparable Tom Adams Trio, invites author David Evanier to provide a few entertaining anecdotes from his recent highly acclaimed Bennett biography, All the Things You Are: The Life of Tony Bennett. The music of Tony Bennett has been running through the soul of Eddie Bruce for most of his life. He not only sings to the audience but engages them with his personal stories about Bennett's impact on his life. He is proud to have received raves across the country for his tribute to Bennett. Bruce's selections of songs range from Bennett's earlier tunes like "Because of You" and "Just in Time" to songs like "I Got Rhythm," "If I Ruled the World" and "Steppin' Out" that reintroduced Bennett to the MTV generation. Sharing their deep respect for Tony Bennett, the musical statesman of the Great American Songbook, both Bruce and Evanier promise to delight the audience with little known stories of Bennett's life - whether tracing his deep support of the civil rights movement, his illustrious career as a painter or his dedication to arts education with the establishment of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts Bennett founded with his wife Susan. There is a $30-$50 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
