S.F.: EDNA WRIGHT & THE HONEY CONE AT THE RRAZZ
Classic 70s R&B and Soul Girl Group Classic 70s R&B and Soul Girl Group Singing All Their Hits will be appearing at RRAZZ ROOM at THE HOTEL NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-394-1189) on Friday & Saturday, August 3rd & 4th at 9:15 pm singing all their hits. Honey Cone ia comprised Carolyn Willis, Shelly Clark and Edna Wright. Formed in 1966 and based in Los Angeles, they were the newly created Hot Wax Records' first signing to that fledgling label. The trio had previous musical experience with Willis previously a member of The Girlfriends; Clark an ex-member of the Ikettes; while Wright was a member of gospel group The Cogics. They had been singing together for a short while when they were spotted by Eddie Holland in 1966 who re-named them Honey Cone. In more recent years, Wright has performed across the US with Latari Martin and Melodye Perry, billed as 'Edna Wright and The Honey Cone.' The RRazz Room welcomes them back as part of its "Soul Train Nights". There is a $35 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
