SAMUEL JOSEPH presents NEW CABARET SEASON at PIZZA ON THE PARK

SAMUEL JOSEPH presents NEW CABARET SEASON at PIZZA ON THE PARK

Following the announcement that Pizza on the Park will, thankfully, remain open until September, I am delighted to announce a new season of cabaret performances that will continue the 30 year tradition of superb intimate live entertainment for which this beloved venue is renowned.

Several Sundays in June, July and into August I will feature the best, most exciting and dynamic young West End talent debuting uniquely devised solo shows and taking the opportunity to step out of character and perform a diverse selection of repertoire.

The season commences with 2009 Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year Michael Peavoy June 27. Cassidy Janson (WICKED, CRAZY FOR YOU and currently appearing in AVENUE Q,) July 11, will be followed by Kelly Price (GUYS AND DOLLS, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, THE MISANTHROPE) July 18 and Shona White (currently appearing in ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR) July 25. More artists will be announced as this series continues into August.

I will also bring several longer runs to Pizza on the Park, presenting a brand new show from  stellar cabaret duo Claire Martin and Richard Rodney Bennett (June 30 -  July 3), following sellout performances over the past year at Kings Place, Pizza on the Park and The Oak Room (NY).

To celebrate their 2010 Drama Desk nomination for 'Outstanding Musical Revue' Simon Green and David Shrubsole return to London for  a limited engagement of their hit show SIMON GREEN - TRAVELING LIGHT direct from New York's Feinstein's at Loew's Regency and 59E59 Ground breaking legendary cabaret icon Al Pillay returns to Pizza on the Park with a 3 night residency July 15 - 17.

Harry the Piano performs August 5 - 7. After years as the house pianist on Channel 4ʼs Big Breakfast and BBC1ʼs Johnny Vaughan Tonight, Harry the Pianoʼs solo show has taken the cabaret world by storm. Taking live requests to play any song in any style as featured on BBC radio 2, 3 and 4 and BBC TVʼs Children in Need, he has filled the Albert Hall, launched the QM2 and headlined at festivals worldwide. Expect musical comedy of "staggering virtuosity" by "the new Victor Borge" and understand why "you have never heard a piano played like this before!"

Internationally acclaimed vocalist and Pizza on the Park favourite Gary Williams performs for one night only with the premiere performance of his new show 'That's Life'. With his ease of delivery and immaculate phrasing Gary epitomises the charm, charisma and suave musicality of the swing era.

More dates and artists to be announced shortly.

Please note that previous performances announced for The Pheasantry have been transferred back to PIzza on the Park at the request of management and the The Pheasantry cabaret programming remains on hold until the Knightsbridge venue is definitely closed.
