Many still find her fascinating, inspiring, funny, seductive, timeless! A Musical Journey Of A Legend! An Icon! Marilyn Monroe! Marissa Mulder grew up in Syracuse, NY. She moved to New York City in 2007 and has gone on to become one of the most successful young cabaret artists on the NY scene. In 2011, she beat out 60 other singers to win the MetroStar Challenge at the Metropolitan Room, an American Idol type contest for up and coming cabaret artists. Since then she has performed in several of her own shows. She is the winner of the 2013 Noel Coward and Julie Wilson Award which were presented to her at Lincoln Center where she also sang. She was the winner of the 2014 MAC award for Major Artist and Album Of The Year ( Tom ... In His Words). She was a featured guest and singer on Piano Jazz hosted by Jon Weber on NPR. Two other songs received their first commercial recording here: Ron Abel and Chuck Steffan's "Waiting for a Westbound Train," and "How Could I Not?" is from the David Spencer/cAlan Menken musical, THE APPRENTICESHIP OF DUDDY KRAVITZ. On Broadway: Raissa was "Christine Daae" in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and performed in CHESS, as a benefit for the Actor's Fund. First National Tours: "Jellylorum/Griddlebone" and "Jennyanydots" in CATS, and as "Lizzie Phagan" in PARADE, where she worked with the original creative team of director Harold Prince, choreographer Patricia Birch, author Alfred Uhry, and composer Jason Robert Brown. In NYC, Raissa has headlined at: Feinstein's, Metropolitan Room, Iridium and The Laurie Beechman Theatre. She has guest starred at: The Supper Club, Rainbow Room, 88's, Don't Tell Mama, Chita's, The Algonquin, and Radio City Music Hall. Carolyn Lee Jones's influences and choices of genre are as broad as her vocal styling is rich. She makes standards sound new and the new sound standard. It is something of an audio calling card, the perfect representation of who she is and the musicians in her band. Her musical journey began as a child while growing up in Nebraska. During her formative years Carolyn sang in her school choirs and studied voice. Both of her parents were gifted musicians. After graduation, the lure of a bigger city drew her to Dallas, Texas where she pursued a successful 1st career in retailing for luxury stores. Carolyn traveled the world and continued to seek out music-related opportunities by producing and performing jazz shows while on the road. In 2008, she made the decision to pursue music full time as a jazz vocalist and band leader. With influences ranging from Julie London, Anita O'Day and Shirley Horn to Tony Bennett, Diana Krall and Laura Nyro, Carolyn Lee Jones is a melodic jazz-pop singer-stylist with a combination of rich and expressive vocals. The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents Grammy-nominated recording artist, television and Broadway star Ilene Graff, along with her husband, ASCAP-Award winning musical director Ben Lanzarone, with their big band show "It's Better With A Band!" at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Monday, June 13th at 7:00 pm. For the first time in New York, Ilene Graff and Ben Lanzarone will present their big band show: "It's Better With A Band," featuring Ben's one-of-a-kind arrangements of songs from Broadway, the movies, and the pop world played by twelve of the best musicians in town. Also appearing with them special guest, their daughter and Broadway performer, Nikka Graff Lanzarone. Ilene Graff is a Grammy-nominated recording artist (for her CD "Baby's Broadway Lullabies") who is best known as the mom on the TV comedy, "Mr. Belvedere." Most recently, she was a recurring character on the CW's "Hart of Dixie." Broadway work includes runs in Promises, Promises (pit singer; Fran Kubelik), and the original production of Grease (Sandy). The highlight of her Broadway career was creating the role of Cleo in the Cy Coleman-Michael Stewart musical, I Love My Wife. She co-starred with Glenn Close in the Disney film version of "South Pacific," and also has appeared in concerts for The Actors Fund honoring Harold Arlen, Kander and Ebb, Jule Styne and the late, great Cy Coleman. Ilene has performed for the Crystal Cruise line, recently sold out a concert at Hollywood's Catalina Jazz Club, headlined at the legendary Birdland as well as the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan, and along with her family The Graffs, at New York's, 54 Below. Married to composer Ben Lanzarone, they are the proud parents of Nikka Graff Lanzarone, a Broadway musical theatre performer. Ben Lanzarone (Musical Director), a winner of ASCAP's Most Performed Composer Award, is an arranger, conductor, pianist, and musical director who has composed hundreds of hours of music for television shows. Elaine Brier brings her new show 'Put Your Funny Where Your Mouth Is' to THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Saturday, June 18th at 7:30 pm. Elaine Brier is a singer/ comic who has been entertaining people with inappropriate material for longer than she cares to remember. A native New Yorker from the Bronx, she attended the High School of Music and Art to study vocal music and did not dance on a table even once. She started her performing career in the 90's, singing in local New York City piano bars and practicing the fine art of shtick. Elaine has done many other things over the years such as voice overs, commercials, television, corporate gigs, birthing babies, etc., but performing for a live audience is still where her passion lies. She won the Backstage Bistro Award in 2003 for her one woman show, "Jirque du Soleil," and was given the MAC Award for "Best Piano Bar Performer" in 2015. She has been a staple at Don't Tell Mama Piano Bar for over 20 years and is very happy to have it as her second home. Elaine has three kids and hopes to write some songs that they are allowed to listen to some day. Put Your Funny Where Your Mouth Is is Elaine's first venture out of the piano bar since her children usurped her life. Through musical comedy, she reflects upon motherhood, divorce, returning to college after 25 years, religion, and shamelessly lowering her standards. The ST. LOUIS CABARET CONFERENCE, the nation's longest running training program in the art of song performance gives you yet another stellar faculty roster of professionals to guide you. Award winning Broadway and cabaret stars, show business legends, American Idol coaches and the finest music directors in the business - these dynamic artists are at the top of their game and are committed to helping you to achieve your goals. Scheduled to take part are Ann Hampton Callaway, Karen Mason, Marilyn Maye, Peisha McPhee, Faith Prince, Tedd Firth, Christopher Denny, Jeff Harnar, Michael Orland, Alex Rybeck, Lee Lessack, Tim Schall, and Billy Stritch. The Conference also announces a new home for the event through an exciting, new partnership with St. Louis University, one of the Midwest's most esteemed institutions of higher learning. All master classes and housing will take place on this beautiful urban campus in the heart of St. Louis within walking distance to all of the St. Louis Cabaret Festival performances. PROVINCETOWN, MA: 12TH ANNUAL PROVINCETOWN JAZZ FESTIVAL 2016 ANNOUNCED - OPENS AUGUST 11th
FEATURED CABARET ORGANIZATION EVENT

The 12th Annual, 2016 Provincetown Jazz Festival (ProvincetownJazzFestival.org ) will be held in two venues this year. The first event, on August 11th at 7:00 pm at THE CROWN & ANCHOR (247 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA - 508-487-1430 - https://onlyatthecrown.com ) with the second event held on August 15th, with performances at 7:00pm & 9:00 pm at the THE COTUIT CENTER FOR THE ARTS (4404 Route 28 - Falmouth Road - Cotuit, MA - 508-428-0669 - http://www.ArtsOnTheCape.org ). For 11 years the Provincetown Jazz Festival has presented jazz musicians from the United States, Canada, South America, United Kingdom, Europe, and New Zealand. This year they will feature four jazz musicians making their Provincetown Jazz Festival debut:

Billy Stritch sings the Mel Tormé Songbook, a tribute to one of the legendary jazz singers of all time and features some his greatest arrangements. Billy is one of the premier singer-pianists on the New York and national jazz and cabaret scene and accompanies & arranges for Liza Minnelli, Linda Lavin, Marilyn Maye, and many others. He will be accompanied by Ron Ormsby on bass and Bart Weisman on drums.

Evan Christopher, who has created a highly personal brand of "contemporary early-jazz" that strives to extend the legacy of the New Orleans clarinet style. Charismatic and versatile, Christopher was drawn to New Orleans from his native California in 1994 by the rich musical landscape in the birthplace of Jazz. He tours extensively in the United States and Europe and has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival. Appearing with Evan will be Fred Boyle on piano, Nicki Parrott on bass and Bart Weisman on drums.

Nicki Parrott, a world renowned double bassist & jazz vocalist and was voted by Japan's Swing Journal to be the Best Jazz Vocalist in 2007 & 2008. Born in Australia, Nicki relocated to New York and was bassist & vocalist for the legendary Les Paul for over 10 years. She performs regularly at most of the world's top jazz festivals and venues.

Scott Avidon, a jazz sax player, composer and educator from New Jersey, accompanied by Fabiano de Castro from Brazil on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass and Bart Weisman on drums.

The sixth annual "Night Of A Thousand Judys" the Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center presented by The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, will take place at the MERKIN CONCERT HALL at the KAUFMAN CENTER (129 West 67th Street, NYC - 212-501-3330) on Monday, June 6th. "Night Of A Thousand Judys" will honor the iconic Judy Garland with special skits, tributes and songs from her legendary career as movie star, recording artist and stage performer. There will be a pre-show VIP reception at 6:30 pm and the performance at 8:00 pm. The evening is written and hosted by Justin Sayre and directed by Peter James Cook. Lance Horne serves as the event's music supervisor. "Night Of A Thousand Judys" is produced by Dan Fortune and Adam J. Rosen, with Dan Fortune serving as executive producer. Special guests will be announced. "Night Of A Thousand Judys" is a special presentation of The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/ variety show known for a signature blend of outrageous comedy, politics, culture and everything in between. The Meeting* is currently enjoying a successful monthly run at Joe's Pub, which hosted the first "Night of a Thousand Judys" in 2011. The Ali Forney Center is the nation's largest and most comprehensive organization dedicated to homeless LGBT youth. AFC's goal is to provide them with the support and services they need to escape the streets and begin to live healthy and independent lives. Tickets are $45 (Balcony), $60 (Regular), $75 (Prime), $100 (VIP) and $500 (Ruby Slipper VIP). The $100 seats include a VIP pre-show reception at 6:30 PM, a deluxe gift bag and preferred seating. The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents Grammy-nominated recording artist, television and Broadway star Ilene Graff, along with her husband, ASCAP-Award winning musical director Ben Lanzarone, with their big band show "It's Better With A Band!" at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Monday, June 13th at 7:00 pm. For the first time in New York, Ilene Graff and Ben Lanzarone will present their big band show: "It's Better With A Band," featuring Ben's one-of-a-kind arrangements of songs from Broadway, the movies, and the pop world played by twelve of the best musicians in town. Also appearing with them special guest, their daughter and Broadway performer, Nikka Graff Lanzarone. Ilene Graff is a Grammy-nominated recording artist (for her CD "Baby's Broadway Lullabies") who is best known as the mom on the TV comedy, "Mr. Belvedere." Most recently, she was a recurring character on the CW's "Hart of Dixie." Broadway work includes runs in Promises, Promises (pit singer; Fran Kubelik), and the original production of Grease (Sandy). The highlight of her Broadway career was creating the role of Cleo in the Cy Coleman-Michael Stewart musical, I Love My Wife. She co-starred with Glenn Close in the Disney film version of "South Pacific," and also has appeared in concerts for The Actors Fund honoring Harold Arlen, Kander and Ebb, Jule Styne and the late, great Cy Coleman. Ilene has performed for the Crystal Cruise line, recently sold out a concert at Hollywood's Catalina Jazz Club, headlined at the legendary Birdland as well as the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan, and along with her family The Graffs, at New York's, 54 Below. Married to composer Ben Lanzarone, they are the proud parents of Nikka Graff Lanzarone, a Broadway musical theatre performer. Ben Lanzarone (Musical Director), a winner of ASCAP's Most Performed Composer Award, is an arranger, conductor, pianist, and musical director who has composed hundreds of hours of music for television shows. He conducted and played piano for the original Broadway production of Grease, and conducted, played and arranged for some of the biggest names in the business including Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darn, Peter Nero, Art Garfunkle, Mary Travers, Anthony Newley, Petula Clark, Lainie Kazan and Mason Williams. He has also played on countless records, jingles and movie scores and recorded his own piano album, In Classic Form produced by the legendary Bob Crewe. Elaine Brier brings her new show 'Put Your Funny Where Your Mouth Is' to THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Saturday, June 18th at 7:30 pm. Elaine Brier is a singer/ comic who has been entertaining people with inappropriate material for longer than she cares to remember. A native New Yorker from the Bronx, she attended the High School of Music and Art to study vocal music and did not dance on a table even once. She started her performing career in the 90's, singing in local New York City piano bars and practicing the fine art of shtick. Elaine has done many other things over the years such as voice overs, commercials, television, corporate gigs, birthing babies, etc., but performing for a live audience is still where her passion lies. She won the Backstage Bistro Award in 2003 for her one woman show, "Jirque du Soleil," and was given the MAC Award for "Best Piano Bar Performer" in 2015. She has been a staple at Don't Tell Mama Piano Bar for over 20 years and is very happy to have it as her second home. Elaine has three kids and hopes to write some songs that they are allowed to listen to some day. Put Your Funny Where Your Mouth Is is Elaine's first venture out of the piano bar since her children usurped her life. Through musical comedy, she reflects upon motherhood, divorce, returning to college after 25 years, religion, and shamelessly lowering her standards. This show contains all new material and she is very excited to inflict it upon the masses. There is a $25 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: LAUREN STANFORD IN "MORE THAN YOU KNOW"

Lauren Stanford portrays Helen Morgan in "More Than You Know" at STAGE 72(158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Sunday, June 5th, at 7:00 pm. Late nights in Prohibition-era NYC you could find singer Helen Morgan iconically perched on the piano at her club, relying too much on brandy and 'torching' until even the most hardened gangster wept into his beer. A star that has mostly faded from the modern public's conciousness, during the 1920's and 30's she was arguably the most famous singer in New York City. Morgan rose to fame in 1927 from her portrayal of "Julie" in the original Broadway production of Showboat and subsequent 1936 film, and was also well known for her nightclub acts. 'More Than You Know' is a dramatic recreation of Helen Morgan's final night in residency at New York City's Simplon Club in 1932. Written and performed by Lauren Stanford, the play contains songs the chanteuse made famous, including Jerome Kern's "Bill" and "Why Was I Born. Lauren Stanford was the 2013 Metrostar Winner and was nominated for a 2015 MAC award for her debut cabaret show at The Metropolitan Room. She has toured North America in the musical Grease with Frankie Avalon and played "Bess" in the world premier musical Houdini. Directed is by MAC award winning director, Eric Michael Gillett. Music Direction by Jonathan Larson Award winner, Mike Pettry. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
