NYC: THE CAST OF PHANTOM SINGS ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that the Broadway cast of The Phantom of the Opera will celebrate the songs written by their composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, in concert on Sunday, July 12th at 6:00pm at BIRDLAND(315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) . This will be the first in a series of many tribute concerts by the cast of the record-breaking musical, and will benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS. The show will be hosted by the current Phantom himself, James Barbour, joined by his co-stars Julia Udine (Christine), Kaley Ann Voorhees (Christine at certain performances), Jeremy Hays (Raoul), Laird Mackinosh (Andre) and Michele McConnell (Carlotta); ensemble members Katharine Heaton, Satomi Hofmann, Kenneth Kantor, Greg Mills, Nathan Patrick Morgan, Bronson Norris Murphy, Carly Blake Sebouhian, Jeremy Stolle, Paul A. Schaefer, Carrington Vilmont and Elizabeth Welch; as well as company member Bobby Wallace. The Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by theater legend Harold Prince, is the longest-running show in Broadway history. Having played to more than 140 million people in 31 countries around the world, Phantom is arguably the most popular musical of all time. Lloyd Webber's sweepingly romantic score includes the cherished standards "The Music of the Night" and "All I Ask of You." Phantom tells the story of a disfigured musical genius known as 'The Phantom,' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano - Christine - The Phantom lures her as his protege and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, The Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness and passions collide. The award-winning Broadway at Birdland concert series has been celebrating the performers and creators from the Great White Way at the historic music room for the past twelve years. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
