NYC: NEW WEEKLY SHOW FROM SCOTT SIEGEL "THE BROADWAY HOOTENANNY"
FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) presents "THE BROADWAY HOOTENANNY," a new weekly show produced, created and hosted by Scott Siegel in an open-ended run on Thursdays at 11:00 pm . Jesse Kissel serves as Musical Director. THE BROADWAY HOOTENANY will offer approximately four different stars each week who will sing Broadway's greatest songs. On Thursday, March 15th, guest stars will include The Green Goblin, himself, Patrick Page from Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark. He will be joined by Irish Tenor, Bill Daugherty (Brother, Can You Spare a Dime), Elizabeth Stanley (Merrily, We Roll Along), and Amy Warren (The Adding Machine). There is a $15-$25 cover plus a 1-drink minimum.

Inspired by the rich collection of lyrics and melodies that have become synonymous with Julie Andrews, "Whistling Away The Dark" will be presented at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 ) on Saturday, February 25th at 7:00 pm and Thursday, March 15th at 9:30 pm. The show is an hour of songs that represents not only great American standards but also beautiful, lesser known numbers such as "Crazy World," "Once Upon A Long Ago," "Star!," and the title piece, "Whistling Away The Dark." Music Director is Fred Barton with Adam Fisher on cello. Eric Michael Gillett directs. The show on March 15th also marks Shana's birthday. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Peg McCormick moves uptown to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 ) on Thursday, March 15th at 7:00 pm with her show "Reboot", dealing with the many reasons, consequences and benefits that lead us to start over, begin again, erase, rewind, or reboot our lives. The show features the songs of Sugarland, Coldplay, Dolly Parton, and The Cardigans, just to name a few. Boots not required but most definitely encouraged. Suzanne Carrico serves as director with Tracy Stark as musical director, and Donna Kelly on drums and percussion. Peg's theatrical career began in Houston playing the role of Doc, one of the seven dwarves, in a children's production of Snow White. She went on to perform with TUTS, Houston Grand Opera, AD Players, North Shore Music Theatre, TheatreLAB and Turtle Lane Playhouse. In New York she has appeared in cabaret venues such as Danny's Skylight, Dillon's and The Duplex. There is a $5 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Eric is considered by many to be the foremost interpreter of this Broadway and cabaret composer's intricate and moving portraits of contemporary life. With a vocal quality reminiscent of heart-melting tenors like Johnny Mathis, Chet Baker and Jimmy Scott, Craig has been described as one of the dreamiest voices in the music industry. Craig has distinguished himself consistently in his live shows by performing music from the Great American Songbook that is not over-recorded, contemporary pop, as well as more unusual songs he has collected from songwriters through the years. Composer/lyricist Scott Evan Davis will appear with special guests for one show only at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Wednesday, March 14th at 8:00 pm. Davis will present the music from his recently released debut recording - Cautiously Optimistic: The Music of Scott Evan Davis (Sonic Landscapes Music). In addition to all the music from his recording, Davis is excited to introduce the opening number from an original, commissioned musical he's writing for PS 94's autistic children's program. The song is titled "If the World Only Knew." As he and producer/arranger David Snyder did for his album, Davis has assembled an exciting group of performers to interpret his songs at Don't Tell Mama. The evening's line-up includes: Sierra Rein, Joshua Dixon, Natalie Douglas, Erik Sisco, Erin Lindsey Krom, Nikki Van Cassele, William Blake, Nicole Johndrow, Vicky Modica and one more very special guest. Songstress Sandy Bainum returns to the New York cabaret stage to debut her newest show entitled Sandy Bainum: Something to Sing About at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Monday, March 12th at 7:00 pm. The performance is a celebration of positivity, featuring songs that are engaging, entertaining, and ultimately uplifting. The eclectic musical collection brilliantly weaves together the melodies of several decades and musical genres and features tunes by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Dorothy Fields, Stephen Sondheim, Irving Berlin, David Friedman, Randy Newman and John Sebastian. Joining Sandy is her award-winning musical director, Lanny Meyers. The new show, directed by Bruce Kimmel, will treat audiences to such varied fare as "Cockeyed Optimist" from South Pacific, "Lion Tamer" from The Magic Show, "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl, "Pure Imagination" from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story, to name just a few. Ms. Bainum, a regular on the Washington, D.C. theatre scene, made her Broadway debut in David Merrick's legendary production of 42nd Street. Since moving to D.C. with her husband, the former Maryland State Senator, Stewart Bainum, Sandy has performed leading roles in many of Washington's top theatrical venues including the Kennedy Center, Washington Savoyards, the Signature Theatre and Ford's Theater, where she recently completed a run in Jason Robert Brown's Parade. Sandy made her introduction to the New York cabaret scene last year in Excuse My Dust, a cabaret show inspired by the life and writings of Mrs. Dorothy Parker, followed by Great Songs Seldom Heard, after a successful debut at Washington's Signature Theatre. CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals) presents: "Broadway on the Two's! - The Great Story Songs from 1930-2010" at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on 4 Sundays in March, the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th, all shows at 7:00 pm. Over 30 talented singers will perform America's favorite Broadway hits from years that end in "2". From songs that became staples in the Great American Song Book from 1932, 42 & 52, to the Broadway classics that brought us stars like Barbra Streisand in 1962. Then, the transition shows of 72 & 82 as we move into the grand spectacle musical that led to the technically advanced shows of 92 & 2002. MI - TKTS: 734-994-0211) on Sunday March 11th at 4:00 & 6:30 pm to headline at the ARBOR OPERA THEATER's annual LA VIE DE BOHEME fundraiser. A sparkling mainstay of Manhattan nightlife, singer/pianist Daryl Sherman is internationally acclaimed for a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf-Astoria where she played Cole Porter's Steinway. She headlined two years in a row at he annual Cole Porter Birthday Festival in is native Peru, IN. Equally at home in the world of jazz and cabaret Sherman has been lauded for appearances at Feinstein's, The Algonquin's Oak Room, Dizzy's Coca Cola and Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Sherman's many recordings are in regular national rotation on Cable TV's Music Choice and Sirius/XM Radio. She was recently presented the 2010 MAC Award "Best Major Recording" for her Johnny Mercer Centennial CD, a track of which was used in a Mercer documentary produced by Clint Eastwood. Sigali is a classically trained, dramatic soprano, who favors a repertoire of classic American Songbook standards, art songs, and Broadway gems. Award-winning vocalist Marieann Meringolo brings her highly acclaimed new show You Must Believe In Spring! The engagement will also help celebrate Mr. Legrand's 80th birthday on February 24th.
